STATEMENT FROM THE BRITISH RABBIT COUNCIL GOVERNING BODY.
The Governing Body of the BRITISH RABBIT COUNCIL took the decision, following the Prime Minister instruction on 23.03.2020, to close the office with immediate effect. The reasons behind this were we are a non-essential industry. We also must take into consideration the health & welfare of our office staff.
We appreciate this is a very worrying time for everyone but we must all stick together to get through this terrible time.
I can confirm that I will hopefully from Friday, be able to distribute rings to all fanciers. These rings can only be ordered by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 07962175845. The information required will be a stud or name the rings are to be registered in the size & quantity. Payment will be needed either by PayPal to email@example.com or bank transfer, details will be given following your order. PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT ON FACEBOOK.
We would appreciate if you could send no postal communication at present to the office. The BRC email is not being monitored so any urgent correspondence should be directed to me.
AS I WORK IN AN ESSENTIAL INDUSTRY I WILL BE WORKING FROM HOME & MY OFFICE SO I MAY NOT REPLY IMMEDIATELY. I WILL BE POSTING RINGS WHEN I AM IN MY WORKPLACE AS DRIVING 3 MILES TO THE POST OFFICE IS NON ESSENTIAL TRAVEL. THIS WILL BE PROBABLY TWICE A WEEK.
We will give you regular updates going forward.
23 March 2020
It is with the Deepest regret that following the Prime Ministers announcement to reduce social contact due to the ongoing pandemic, The British Rabbit Council has had no option but to close the Office at Purefoy House in Newark with immediate effect.
The priority To protect our employees is paramount in the current Climate and limit the risk to their health by asking them to come to work
We shall review the situation on a regular basis and advise you accordingly.
We hope you can understand our approach we would ask for your continued support of our decision.
We must stay safe.
Please take care of yourselves during these worrying times.

Our Mission Statement
"To protect, further and co-ordinate the interests of all British rabbit breeders; to assist and extend the exhibition rabbits, to influence, advise and co-operate with central and local authorities, departments, education and other committees and schools in promoting the extension of the breeding of rabbits, and to promote and encourage education and research of a scientific and/or practical nature for the welfare and benefit of the rabbit."
Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease
The BRC strongly recommend that members vaccinate against the RHD2 virus. There are new outbreaks being reported both in exhibition studs and pets,
vaccination will help to prevent the spread and contain this deadly virus. The most economic way to acquire vaccine is to ask your vet to import multi dose vials
directly from France or Spain. This can be done using the same license they need for the single dose vials from the wholesaler.
We are happy to provide information directly to any practice.
